Here's something you don't see on the roads too often these days: an E30 328i Cabriolet.

Whilst this one was kitted out with various Mtec accessories of the time, including the highly sought after Sports seats, the original beige leatherwork was oh so tired and, in some places, completely worn out. And that really spoiled the car.

Now though, two shades of gorgeous Futura leather have been employed in the cockpit. A light grey, including perforated centre panels, for the seats (notice the subtle MSport stripes sewn into the centre corners) and a dark grey for the doorcards, rear quarter panels and even the tonneau cover.

This has absolutely updated this 80s classic for the 21st century, but it still looks like it could've been a factory option. And that, in my opinion at least, is what cars like this benefit from; a sympathetic retrim that makes you look twice. Or three times. Or even more than that...
