The owner of this lovely 370Z Roadster really wanted red leather seats. Actually, he specifically wanted the 40th Anniversary interior package, which was red leather and Alcantara. But Nissan didn't make it an option for the Roadster...

So he dropped me a line and explained his predicament. The easiest solution was to retrim his interior to a similar spec, so that meant using some beautiful cherry red Nappa leather and red Alcantara, and finishing with grey topstitching.

In a slight design change, the central part of the headrests was trimmed using Alcantara and this actually changed the whole look of the finished seats. The bulge on the driver's seat base was replicated on the passenger seat. He also wanted the 370Z-specific "Z" emblem hot-stamping into the panels below the headrests; it's very subtle but adds a very nice finishing touch.

The doorcards and kneepads were trimmed in the red Alcantara, just as the 40th Anniversary ones would have been.

And finally, the steering wheel was retrimmed using solid black leather on the upper and lower portions and perforated black leather on the grips. A cherry red Nappa TDC ring was added as well.

Whilst the Anniversary interior may not have been available for the Roadster from Nissan themselves, the owner ended up with the next best thing: a bespoke Nappa leather and Alcantara cabin that was made exactly the way he wanted it.
