This is another job that started out as a simple steering wheel retrim. The owner was having has OEM wheel modified to be D-shaped, and wanted me to rebuild the bottom of the rim and trim it all in leather.

He then wondered about having the gearknob trimmed to match. And the armrest. And the shifter surround. And somehow, we ended up in the situation whereby practically everything got treated to new clothes.

So everything was trimmed in Andrew Muirhead Jura Ash Grey leather, which is primarily used in Lotus cars. A perforated finish was used on the seat centres, the doorcards, the gearknob and handbrake handle, the steering wheel grips and centre pad, and the armrest.

The Gen 5 Celica has plastic shells on the backs of the front seats and the reverse of the headrests. These were also trimmed in bespoke leather covers, so everything matched. Even the parcel shelf got covered!

The difference the new leather trim made to the cabin was staggering; it ended up looking and feeling like an executive car inside, rather than a 90s Japanese sports coupe.

The dashboard and interior door handles have also been trimmed since these pictures were taken, but I don't have any photos of those parts fitted as yet.
